Tourism in Tokyo is continuing to remain stabilized, even though the city is facing numerous issues. Presently, the capital of Japan offers a large number of attractions like restaurants that offer affordable French cuisine, shops and boutiques that offer designer wear from the previous year, and hotels which haven’t increased rates as of yet. Tokyo is also in the midst of an industrial explosion that has been due to huge parcels of land that were formerly owned by the country’s railway system. This large land space has been prepped for commercial buildings to be built.

Prestigious bistros and the upper end of fine dining restaurants within the city add and expect ten to fifteen percent charge for service. When ordering you have to make sure you know the restaurants stipulation regarding making your last request for food 30 minutes before they will close and in some cases make your request even an hour before closing.

In this day and time, restaurants in Tokyo are a mixture of many cultures. You can sample anything from American, Chinese or even Indian, just to name a few. As modern overtones pepper the restaurants in the city, one can still find old school restaurants specializing in native Japanese foods. The name for this is called “ryotei” which means an area that is sectioned off exclusively from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets.
